1. Why should I hire a professional when I can try and do it myself?

Hiring a licensed professional to perform your pest control will benefit you in several ways, For one we have years of experience and know exactly what products to use for different types of pest, there is no one product that will take care of all pest regardless of what the over the counter sprays will tell you.

Another reason to hire a professional is consistency- We auto schedule each visit to ensure theres Always a barrier between you and the bugs!

2. How long after the initial treatment does it take to see results?

The initial treatment is sometimes referred to as a "flush out" so it's kind of normal to see more pest after, that's why we come back in 30 days (regardless if bi-monthly or quarterly) from your Initial service to do a follow up and put the nail in the coffin!

3. What is the difference between a treatment using baits vs. sprays?

Different pests require different modes of action to gain control, Ants and Roaches typically require baiting because they have colonies and nest that they can take the product back to. Even if the pest dies before getting back to the colony most bugs eat other bugs and they will ingest the products while eating their fellow friend!

4. Is pest management safe for my family and pets?

Pest Management isn't what it was back in the day. Today's pest control starts with IPM or integrated pest management which utilizes mechanical, environmental and physical strategies as well as chemical applications. Chemicals aren't always the answer, if there's a problem we can solve without using chemicals we will always utilize that strategy ahead of just showing up and spraying all over your home and yard.

5. What do you do on a pest control service?

We create 3 barriers around your home. The first barrier is around your brick wall, scorpions love to hide here and often only come out for food and water. The second barrier is around the exterior perimeter of your home. This is your main line of defense when keeping pests out of your home, we pay special attention to entry ways, windows and other openings. The final barrier is inside, again this is where we focus on entryways and openings. Inside Does not need to be done with every service, it's recommended only 3 or 4 times per year unless there's an issue stemming from the interior of the home.

6. When does a homeowner see termites?

Every single home in the Phoenix valley is susceptible to termites, they love wood and moisture so eliminating conditions conducive to termite will help you prevent termites but sometimes that isn't enough. Subterranean termites make "shelter tubes" or "mud tubes" (insert picture) making them fairly easy to spot once you know what you are looking for. If you think you have termites we offer free inspection/estimates to put your mind at ease or get you taken care of with a budget friendly treatment plan.

7. What should I expect when I have an inspection?

Termite inspections take anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour. We go through the interior and exterior of your home searching for any sign of mud tubes or damage.

8. What Types of Treatments Are Used?

For termites we perform liquid applications, creating a consistent barrier around your entire home. We have found this method of treatment far more successful than baiting due to bait stations being every 10'-25' Ft apart. It only takes 3/8 " of an inch for a termite to get to your home!

9. Is There Any Odor When You Spray for Pests?

While some products we use outside do have an odor it will typically dissipate within 24 hours. Inside products have no odor and are approved for use in hospitals, schools, and commercial kitchens.

10. How should we select the right professionals?

DO YOUR RESEARCH- There are thousands of companies in the valley, some just show up and spray, some take their time to do the job right and get to the source of the issue. If you're thinking about hiring a professional, call them and ask what questions you may have, read their reviews online from people who have used their services before. Being the cheapest isn't what we strive for, we strive to be the best and make you feel like you are getting a quality service, you're not just a number with San-Rio!
